I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I've been keeping busy promoting DOUBLE BOOKED FOR DEATH, but I've taken some time now to update my website. Pio's Paint-by-Numbers page is back with a few new pictures. I've also added a few blog tour stops to the Blogging and Events page. Finally, Hamlet the Cat, star of DOUBLE BOOKED FOR DEATH, has consented to add his own Hamlet's Page for your entertainment. More soon. In the meantime, have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Oops, have been neglecting the website. :( I've been busy trying to finish PAWS OF DEATH, my second Black Cat Bookshop mystery, and have been working on promo in anticipation of DOUBLE BOOKED FOR DEATH to arrive on the shelves the beginning of December.
I just got back from St. Augustine and the Florida Heritage Book Festival, where I conducted a workshop on Turning Historical Figures into Fictional Characters. And, behind the scenes, I'm working on updating this website into something even better. So I've not been just lying around eating bonbons, ha ha! More soon!

I'm very sad to report the passing of Dr. Martin H. Greenberg of Tekno Books following a courageous battle with cancer. If you are not familiar with Marty and his niche in the publishing industry, read his obituary (here) which lists an impressive resume and list of awards. Did you know he was one of the founders of the SyFy Channel?? I've worked with the folks at Tekno for the past 10 years, and they have published some fantastic books! My condolences to his wife, Roz, his family, and the extended Tekno family. What a loss to those who knew him, and publishing, in general. :(

My edits are finished, and I'm taking a short break before I begin work on my next BLACK CAT BOOKSHOP mystery. In the meantime, I'm finding myself fascinated by fascinators! I actually adored Princess Beatrice's gravity-defying bow concoction that she wore to William and Kate's wedding. And I am proud to say that, for once, I am ahead of the fashion curve. Two years ago, I wore a feathered fascinator that I made myself to my niece's wedding.
So what does this have to do with writing? Not much, except that I've found arts and crafts projects are a great way to NOT get any writing done, LOL! Another excellent avoidance technique is giving talks on writing. With that in mind, I will be presenting a workshop on Point of View this coming August as part of Murder on the Beach Bookstore's "Author's Academy". Been doing final edits on my first Black Cat Bookshop mystery: DOUBLE-BOOKED FOR DEATH...I think you're really going to like this one! Oops. Well, since we're already into February, I will dispense with the Happy New Year wishes and go right into current news. I have a new publication date for my upcoming Black Cat Bookshop mystery series. Book 1, DOUBLE BOOKED FOR DEATH, will now be published December 2011, just in time for holiday buying!
